Dr. Chetan Daulat

Biography

Early on Dr. Chetan Daulat made a delightful discovery: He wanted to be a dentist. Growing up in Gaithersburg, MD, he enjoyed visiting the family dentist so much, he was invited to visit firsthand. “I spent many afternoons leaning over his shoulder,” he remembers. “His work was anything but routine, and he seemed to be having a lot of fun.”

These observations, along with his experience making dentures at a local dental lab while in college, helped set the stage for an uncommon career.

Dr. Daulat received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Univ. of Maryland, Baltimore County in 1994, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Univ. of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, in Baltimore, Maryland in 1998. His classroom learning was complemented by externships to Vietnam, where he helped run a dental clinic for the population of Hanoi, and then Arizona and New Mexico, where he made dentures for residents of Navajo reservations. “That’s when I made a second discovery,” he says. “I love prosthodontics. It’s more that restoring teeth. It’s renewing confidence.”

Dr. Daulat completed his specialty training in Prosthodontics in 2001, at which time he received a Certificate in Prosthodontics and Masters of Science in Oral Biology. He practiced in Gaithersburg and Bethesda before joining Dr. Butler at Hillandale Dental Partners in 2004. Dr. Daulat has served as a clinical instructor at the Univ. of Maryland, CPR instructor, and lectures locally on prosthodontics. He is an active member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics.

Dr. Daulat, his wife and two children live in western Howard County, Maryland.
